Across Advanced and four competitors
The report also uses category questions and quote-stage context. This is a selected sample, not a customer population or market-share estimate.
What customers want, what holds them back, and what they need to trust before choosing an insulation contractor.
Priority insight — INFERENCE: Clear scope, cost and completion evidence are useful topics alongside the rebate offer. Their relative effect on buying is not measured. Explain the scope, the customer’s cost and how completed work is checked.
Based on public evidence collected 11 October 2026: 89 retained records, including 68 substantive contractor accounts and six Advanced accounts. Six insulation ad IDs across three brands have readable messaging. Four IDs have complete copy/static-or-carousel inspection; two videos remain partial because audio is unverified. Public comments, campaign performance and brand-approved priorities are unavailable.
Insights are selected for strategic usefulness, not statistical rank. Buying situations overlap. An enquiry, qualified lead, estimate, appointment and completed paid service are different stages; the packs contain no approved lead-qualification rules or conversion rates.
The report also uses category questions and quote-stage context. This is a selected sample, not a customer population or market-share estimate.
Counts among the same 68 accounts. Bar scale: 0–25 accounts. One record can have several tags. Themes include praise and concerns; they do not rank buying motives.
Counts reproduce the Customer & Competitor Research qualifying-account tags, with each account counted once per tag. Known duplicates were merged. Brief praise, quote-only context and unclear-scope entries are excluded from this denominator. These charts summarize the existing research codes, not an exhaustive count of every theme mentioned. Coding counts are not a representative measure of buyer motivations. The 68 qualifying contractor accounts are a subset of 89 retained records; the remaining records provide context and are not added to the chart denominator.

Expanded comparison: Above All adds three active insulation ad IDs using comfort, cold spots, drafts and DIY concerns. Its quote destination is verified. All four carousel cards and all five AD06 copy variants are checked; video audio remains unverified. S62 S69
Visual samples from the 15.829-second cold-weather video. Times are approximate scene ranges; no audio claim.
Stove and socked feet; cold-room, floor and draft prompts.
Handheld thermal-camera imagery with a diagnosis message.
Foam-work footage and a before-winter repair message.
Brand end card and free insulation quote invitation.
S62 · Observed imagery does not prove measured outcomes or establish that every depicted job belongs to the advertiser.
INFERENCE · proposed communication journey. These are equal stages, not measured conversion rates.
Cold rooms or uncertain old material.
Different quotes include different scope.
Rebate eligibility and the customer share vary.
Timing depends on weather, access and other work.
The customer needs to understand what was done.
A website enquiry is not a qualified lead, booked estimate, appointment or paid installation. Those milestones need the business’s own definitions and tracking.
Recommended production inputs. This public-source case study does not include owner-supplied project documents.
A real assessment and agreed list of work, including exclusions.
Owner-supplied production inputA real quote, program route and customer-share explanation.
Project-specific eligibilityPermissioned photos and a checklist matched to the agreed work.
Permissioned project assetsPublic reviews and competitor examples support the need for proof; they are not substitutes for Advanced’s own verified project documents.
No matching sections. Clear your search or choose Reset.
INFERENCE · Make the project feel understandable and manageable.
Use rooms without feeling cold.
Connect the service to everyday comfort; do not promise a fixed bill reduction.
Understand why this job fits their home.
Explain how the assessment informs the scope.
Know what the quote includes and what remains after rebates.
Separate the quote, rebate and customer’s share.
Have the work done with less mess.
Show the real preparation and cleanup process.
Fit the job around other work and daily life.
Explain timing and dependencies without inventing a turnaround promise.
INFERENCE · Pain includes uncertainty and disruption, not only a cold room.
Upstairs rooms, basements or a garage feel uncomfortable.
Use a specific home situation, not a guaranteed diagnosis.
Two similar quotes cover different work.
Help people compare inclusions rather than price alone.
The desired upgrade costs more than expected.
Make cost conditions easy to find.
People worry about protecting rooms and fixing damage.
Explain protections; do not imply that complaints show a normal failure rate.
Callbacks or appointments slow progress.
Set honest contact expectations; copy cannot fix scheduling problems.
INFERENCE · Explain scope, cost and remedies before making broad promises.
I do not want to pay for work my home does not need.
Explain assessment and scope.
I need to understand what can change the price.
Show a clear quote example and how changes are approved.
A rebate may not cover my project or household.
Explain the applicable program and customer share; do not say everyone qualifies.
Will the home feel better, even if my bill does not fall much?
Keep comfort, consumption and dollar savings separate.
I need to know who handles a problem after the work.
Explain the written remedy; do not convert it into a money-back promise.
INFERENCE · Start with the situation; do not assume one reason drives every enquiry.
An owner asks about a cold upstairs room or basement.
I want this space to feel usable.
The owner finds old material, moisture or an uncertain attic condition.
I need a plan before making this worse.
The owner investigates assistance or its application steps.
Can this make the work affordable?
Basement, framing, roof or attic work needs coordination.
I need the insulation to fit the rest of the project.
An owner compares scope and cost or considers postponing.
Which work matters most now?
INFERENCE · Three overlapping situations emerge from the evidence.
INFERENCE: these are overlapping buying situations, not fixed demographic groups. New-build, commercial, radon-led and eco-first audiences need more specific buyer evidence; no segment size or performance is established.
Owners comparing repair, sealing, removal or top-up.
They do not know which work comes first.
A sensible plan with less chance of regret.
A clear assessment and explained scope.
Owners comparing program help, quotes and their own payment.
Funding rules and total cost are hard to compare.
An affordable, understandable path.
Clear eligibility, inclusions and customer share.
Owners choosing a contractor for unfamiliar work.
They cannot easily judge hidden work or delivery.
Answers, respectful work and visible completion.
A credible process backed by real project evidence.
INFERENCE · One brand ad cannot establish a clear missing audience.
NO CLEAR PERSONA GAP FOUND. Only one Advanced static execution was inspected. It already addresses older homes; that audience cannot be called missing. These are situations to investigate, not proven gaps.
Several accounts seek help deciding what the home needs.
Check the rest of the brand’s ads and landing journey before calling this an audience gap.
Accounts value explanations, protection and completion evidence.
Verify video audio and compare the observed messages with recent Advanced enquiries.
INFERENCE · Useful candidates to check are not confirmed market gaps.
No confirmed white space was established. Six insulation ad IDs across Advanced, GCI and Above All have readable messaging. Above All adds comfort, drafts and DIY concerns. All three displayed versions of GCI AD02 were inspected; Above All’s carousel and five displayed AD06 variants are checked; the two video files are visually sampled throughout, with audio unverified. All five entries below are INFERENCE: directions to test, not market-wide absences.
The original three-static-ad sample did not show a full scope walkthrough. The expanded sample adds Above All’s carousel and two visually sampled videos, including thermal-camera and installation imagery; video audio is unverified, so a full spoken walkthrough cannot be ruled out.
It could make the job easier to judge. Not confirmed as unique or underused.
A complete before/after project story was not observed in the original three static ad IDs. Above All’s expanded sample shows project and installation imagery, including all four carousel cards. That imagery is not a verified outcome story; partial video inspection cannot establish that such a story is absent.
It may support confidence; obtain real Advanced project assets first.
The retained sample does not establish a full application or payment journey. This is a limit of the inspected evidence, not proof that competitors omit those details.
Clarify conditions; rebate assistance itself is not a missing message.
The original three static ad IDs all use rebate messaging. The expanded six-ID sample also includes Above All’s comfort, drafts, DIY and seasonal messages (S62); it is not a rebate-only sample. Competitor sites discuss eligibility, so rebate assistance itself is not a missing message.
Comfort is already used in the expanded sample: Above All addresses cold spots, floors, drafts and seasonal comfort (S62). Only the original three-static-ad sample was primarily rebate and energy-savings led.
It may set realistic expectations. Not a confirmed category gap.
The original static sample did not show a complete protection/cleanup process. Above All’s expanded ads show installation activity, while its website explains preparation and cleanup (S63). With video audio unverified, the audit cannot rule out further process explanation.
It may answer a practical concern, provided the shown process is verified.
Advanced and competitor customers discuss tidy work, and complaints show experiences vary. Above All’s process guide is published company messaging, not an operational audit. Test a verified Advanced process example; do not claim the territory is unused.
INFERENCE · Treat beliefs as hypotheses, not facts about every buyer.
Beliefs are plain-language interpretations of the evidence. None is labeled a misbelief unless its specific claim is shown to be false. The sample does not establish how widely each belief is held.
INFERENCE: all belief statements below are interpretations of the accounts, not measured beliefs or exact customer quotations. In particular, expecting comfort and savings together is a hypothesis to check.
Answers can help people feel ready to commit.
Explain the recommendation and show evidence of the work.
The expected customer share may affect scope.
Explain eligibility; do not generalize one free project to everyone.
A price alone may not explain value.
List inclusions, exclusions and change conditions.
Owners can hesitate over sealing, removal or ventilation.
Explain that assessment determines the right sequence.
Savings expectations may shape perceived value.
Avoid treating comfort as proof of a fixed saving.
INFERENCE · Proof should connect the promised work to the completed job.
Owners compare very different packages.
Obtain a real assessment, agreed scope and itemized quote. These Advanced documents were not supplied.
Funding outcomes vary; billing can be disputed.
Obtain a project-specific quote and eligibility explanation. Public program rules were retained as of 11 October; no customer-specific approval exists here.
The customer may not see the finished area easily.
Obtain permissioned before/after photos and a completion checklist. Competitor accounts mention these; Advanced assets were not supplied.
Mess or damage can disrupt the household.
Verify and document the actual preparation and cleanup process. Advanced public accounts support the recommendation; reusable project material is outside the supplied evidence.
A verbal reassurance may leave repair responsibilities unclear.
Obtain complete written guarantee and issue-resolution terms. Official pages describe corrective work; a cash refund is not established.
INFERENCE · Exact excerpts illustrate themes; repeated wording is not established.
NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE that these exact phrases repeat across customers. These five excerpts illustrate recurring themes; they are not a frequency ranking. Competitor/category wording is not an Advanced testimonial. R01’s retained wording comes from a republication; the full original expansion was unavailable. Permission for advertising use is not established.

INFERENCE · Reported praise is not proof of what caused the purchase.
INFERENCE: these are plausible buying reasons selected from qualitative accounts. Praise after a job does not prove what caused the original purchase, or that it improves ad conversion.
It can make an unfamiliar project easier to accept.
People can judge whether the chosen scope fits their budget.
Keeping the agreed scope, bill and schedule may support confidence.
Protection and cleanup are part of the experience customers describe.
A response to questions or corrections may matter after installation.
INFERENCE · Some barriers need operational answers, not stronger copy.
The owner cannot easily tell which quote addresses which work.
Explain the assessment and inclusions. The estimator must confirm the actual scope.
The owner does not know the program route or customer share.
Make the sequence clear. Program approval remains separate from an enquiry or installation booking.
Another repair competes for the same budget.
Acknowledge priorities. Do not use pressure or assume a discount removes the barrier.
Weather, readiness or other work affects timing.
State next steps and dependencies. Operations must support any timing promise.
Old material may require a different contractor or an earlier step.
State the referral boundary. Messaging cannot replace specialist assessment or approved remediation.
INFERENCE: proposed strategic priorities, not measured rankings or brand-approved campaign choices. Each selection is drawn from the sections above.

ADVERTISING EVIDENCE · 11 OCTOBER 2026
AD04 combines installation imagery with experience, local conditions and efficiency messages.
AD06 changes persuasion angles while retaining one identical video file.
Both distinct files sampled every half-second across their durations. Audio remains unverified.
Diagnosis and installation imagery are already in the competitive ad sample. Above All’s cold-weather video shows a thermal camera before foam installation. Its other video uses an installation montage. A specific Advanced project story remains a research direction, but generic “show the work” or “find the problem” messaging is not exclusive.
Enquiry-path limit: Advanced and GCI’s public ad links opened generic Facebook login pages. This does not establish what a real ad recipient sees or prove that either customer journey is broken. Advanced’s website quote form was inspected separately; it is not verified as the ad destination. S54 S57 S70
Evidence base: six insulation ad IDs with readable messaging; 68 substantive customer accounts, including six Advanced accounts. Four IDs have complete copy/static-or-carousel inspection; two video IDs remain partial because audio is unverified. Variants and carousel cards do not add unique ad IDs.
Independent strategy based on public evidence collected 11 October 2026. No brand approval or campaign results are implied.
